Sometimes the best day of your life is the one you never saw coming.

Joe Cohen has devoted the past two years of his life to one thing: the care and feeding of Kade Bosa. His partner in their PI business, roommate, and best friend, Kade is everything to Joe, even if their relationship falls short of what Joe desires most. But he won’t push. Kade has suffered a rough road, and Joe’s pretty sure he’s the only thing holding Kade together.

Estranged from his own family, Joe knows the value of desperately holding on to someone dear, but he never expected his present and past to collide just as Kade’s is doing the same. Now they’ve stumbled across evidence that could change their lives: the impact of Kade’s tragic past, their job partnership, and any future Joe might allow himself to wish for….

Review
Kairos by author Mary Calmes is a fast-paced love story that had just the right amount of action and adventure sprinkled in to keep me turning the pages.
Joe has been looking at Kade as more than a PI partner and best friend for a long time now. He is gay and so is Kade but has never really taken that step with Kade. He doesn’t want to lose his only best friend he has ever had.
Kade is a fellow PI.  Best friend. He too has been having feelings for his best friend Joe. Loves his cooking, his friendship and wants more.  He has been to rehab used to be a policeman and has a tainted past. This past has stopped him from going after Joe. He doesn’t want to bring him down with him.
Joe has been everything to Kade and now Joe might need more than just Kade’s support and friendship. Kade refuses to let Joe go into danger alone but is he willing to risk his heart to the one man who could actually break it.
Ms. Calmes does a great job of building the tension between these two friends. I love the best friends to lover’s storylines and this one has a little danger thrown in for fun.

Really well written well thought out the story. I could not put this one down. Definitely one for the keeper shelf.  Intense and unforgettable. Highly recommend this story for those that want to fall in love with some unforgettable men.
