THIS BOOK IS A STAND ALONE WITH A HEA

She has a troubled past; he dislikes the present. Can they find happiness in a future together?

An MIT graduate tired of the cramped east coast lifestyle, Serenity enrolls as a graduate student in a small town in Washington State. Just as she is beginning to feel lonely, her professor suggests she hang out with a group who enjoys going out on adventures. But she gets more than she bargained for when she finds out a handsome but very blunt stranger is part of the group.

Like Serenity, Ryland is accustomed to attention because of his looks and profession. The only reason that he hasn’t quit is because of his overdeveloped sense of responsibility. Between work and other responsibilities, he is constantly dealing with things on his own. With the arrival of Serenity, it looks like things are about to change.

When things go terribly wrong on a whitewater rafting trip, will the pair be able to open up? Or are they too entrenched in their ways?

WARNING: This ebook contains mature themes and language, intended for 18+ readers only.

Review
Rescued by Ryland is the first book in the Deep River series by author Lisa Daniels.  I loved this fast-paced romance. Has a lot of great characters and hot enough to keep me turning the pages and wanting more.
Serenity, loved programming aps. She tended to get lost in her work. She has moved from a prestigious school to a remote area. She was not one who wanted to live in the big city.
She does have a bit of a culture shock over how the people were.  Really nice people in the town always willing to help.
Ryland is a bear shifter. Very polished looking. Really brisk when talking to her. But he also is very protective of her. He sends her a lot of mixed signals.
There is a little bit of mystery in this book.  Lots of humor. Was one of those books that is a ton of fun to read. I would read more in this series, I would love to see who falls in love next.
