Leo thinks asking his soul-splice mate to marry him will be easy, but Dakota says no, again and again. When he finally capitulates, Leo believes happy ever after is in the cards, but Dakota isn’t feeling well, and meddling family members hijack their plans. Neither warlock wants the drama of a large ceremony, but the Conclave gets its way. Witches always do, after all.

When the eventful day arrives, neither man expects their old enemy to raise a demon from Hell to ruin their wedding. Witches can’t stand up to a demon, so the newly wed warlocks must save the day, but not before a surprise revelation leaves Dakota reeling.

Can Leo and Dakota survive a demon, witches, and a grandma intent on embarrassing them both as much as possible? Sadly, even magic can’t guarantee a happy ending…

Review
A Warlock's Surprise by author Erin M. Leaf is the second book the The Warlocks series. You have to read the first in this series to get this story. It is like a what are they doing now and how has their love grown from the first book.
I will say I loved the first book in this series, this one however was a lot of information to take in. There is bickering, and pregnancy, and more oh my. However if you really had the time to absorb all of that, and really read this one, this is a great read. I think if the story had been longer perhaps would have helped some.
Dakota Leo keeps proposing to him. But Dakota would rather just live together and avoid the whole marriage hoopla. Leo keeps ambushing him with a ring.
Leo is undaunted by Dakota's refusals. Dakota just would rather not have his mom taking over his wedding and life. He loves Leo, they are already soul spliced together forever. He would love to marry Leo but on his terms not other people's agendas. He wants his own life not the life the clave picks out for him.
This book they deal with all that. There is real love in this book. Just a ton of things going on in a short period of time… well it feels like a short period of time. Over all I liked the growth of both characters. I really felt their love growing and them maturing through this story. A must read for lovers of this series. I cannot wait to see where these two go next.
