They are the Arctic Brotherhood.

They are deadly fighters, fierce protectors and loyal mates.

Elliott Wilder is a mild mannered Alaskan college professor. Wilder craves the things most people find boring. Seclusion. Monotony. Anonymity. But what Wilder craves most of all is the thing he can’t have… memory loss. Four hundred years ago, Wilder and the other members of the Arctic Brotherhood were captured and tortured by the leader of the Siberian werewolves. Wilder is still haunted by memories of that night, when he wasn’t able to protect his leader.

Now the Siberian wolf is on the loose and seeking revenge. Not only must Wilder lead the brotherhood, he must fight the attraction he feels toward its newest recruit, Jenny Piper. Jenny offers Wilder a glimpse of the life he can’t have. As the brotherhood races against time to save humanity from the horror their enemies unleashed on the world, Wilder must reach inside himself to find the leader the brotherhood needs and the mate Jenny craves.

Review
Ice Wolf starts off the Arctic Brotherhood series by author Jane Godman. I really liked this start of the series. There are very strong characters who bring issues to the table I can see being fleshed out in future books. I also like the lore and world building in this book. I want to know more, and I am very engaged. Always good signs in a series, this is my first time reading Ms. Godman but hopefully she continues with this series so it is not my last time reading her.
We have an introduction to the Arctic Wolves. They all protect the world from evil. But they suffered a very huge loss against evil. One that scars our main character of this book. He has to learn to trust himself and his abilities again and basically get back into the saddle and fight.
Wilder is a professor. He never has gotten over the defeat many many years ago. For him it is a fresh memory that tells him to stay out of the fight. He wants to be ordinary and normal. He cannot escape though who he is. He is a protector. His inner wolf keeps reminding him of that.
His personality is strong. I liked that he is gentle but fierce. Very tormented soul when we meet him.
Jenny is a wolf. She is a student. She is strong, sweet, almost carefree. Wilder needs that part of Jenny. He needs to remember to have a little fun once in while. Jenny is the kind of girl who will get what she wants, she is resourceful and will find a way.
She is also very kind, sweet, and fierce! I loved that she can rescue our hero. I love a kick butt heroine. Jenny is that.
Over all an amazing start to this series. If you love paranormal stories with hot heroes and kick butt heroines this is the story to pick up.
