Dallas “Boomer” Holt and his fellow SEAL team members have been in many situations that required them to put their lives on the line, but their latest mission included two other SEAL teams. Michael “Wolf” Steel and his team, along with Rocco and his team are needed to pull a lone American woman dubbed, “The Hollywood Princess”, from an ISIS stronghold without causing a national incident. After weeks in captivity with men who think nothing of using and abusing prisoners, the teams know the woman they save…may not be anything like the one who was taken.
An unknown location, too many variables they hadn’t counted on, and a female hostage who’d never faced a day, let alone weeks of torture…all of these things and more are what the SEALs, will have to overcome in order to complete their mission and bring their target home safe.
When a mission takes more than one team, a little help from fellow Navy SEALs who all share the same motto is always a good thing. Having three teams who believe in the saying “Failure is not an option” ensures they will get the job done, one way or another. Failure is not an option.
Teagan’s vacation has taken a turn for the worse. She is a prisoner of extremist and knows it is just a matter of time before her death is used to prove a point. Dallas is impressed with the fortitude of the woman his team has been sent to rescue. He knows better than to catch feelings for the mark but Teagan has him breaking the rules. Can Teagan look beyond their first meeting and give him a chance to be part of her future?
Protecting Teagan by Elle Boon is part of Susan Stoker’s Kindle world. It is also part of Ms. Boon’s Seal Team Phantom series. Teagan is a wonderful character. She is strong, even hurt and dehydrated she is determined to do whatever is necessary to survive. Meeting Dallas might have come at an inopportune moment but Ms. Boon made sure the moment was action packed. I loved that neither Teagan nor Dallas could explain the chemistry between them but were willing to take a chance on each other. Ms. Boon also did a wonderful job of fitting Ms. Stoker’s characters into her world, it felt seamless. She brought characters that fit the situation and they acted appropriately. I loved that Ms. Boon brought in not just the men but also the women from that world. Dallas and Teagan had a great beginning and I hope the progress started continues when Ms. Boon returns solely to her world. This story was well written and enjoyable. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Boon in the future.
