Former bad-boy pack enforcer Alpha Scott knew he had to change his ways if he wanted to see his thirtieth birthday. He’s worked hard to remake himself, and now that he’s bought The Fisherman’s Friend he’s within inches of achieving his dreams.

Six months ago, Scott had a one-night stand with Maccabe, a feisty Omega. Maccabe didn’t know he was on the verge of going into heat, but when he realized he was pregnant, he figured it out. Maccabe hasn’t had an easy life either. As a teenage runaway he spent a few years making bad choices before he turned his life around.

Neither of them are ready to be parents. Neither of them expects to fall in love. But that’s what’s happening. And now it’s up to them to make the right choices.

Review
Scott is determined to be a better man. He has just purchased a bar and is one step closer to his goal. And then Maccabe walks through his door. Scott isn’t ready to be a father but that ship has sailed. Maccabe isn’t ready to be a father either but decisions must be made. He just needs a bit of help then he will be out of Scott’s hair. Can Maccabe and Scott see they would be better together than going their separate ways?
Have and Hold is sixth in Willa Okati’s Omega Wolves series. This story can be read as a standalone. I liked Scott and Maccabe. Neither was looking for anything permanent but fate had other plans. Scott was a bit of a prick in the past and is looking to be better. He doesn’t believe he is quite there but the character that Ms. Okati gave us was closer than not. He was kind, considerate and determined to keep his word. I loved the way he treated Maccabe, even with the unexpected surprise he brought. I loved that Ms. Okati allowed Maccabe to appreciate Scott, even as he fought his own demons. Maccabe found himself trusting in his one night stand. And both found themselves wanting more. I enjoyed the journey we took as the men learned to communicate with words and not just their body. As Scott and Maccabe found their way together, I liked the process. Ms. Okati gave us a quick, enjoyable story which is well worth your time.
