Ryan and Jeremy Jones have searched since their teens to understand how, together, they’d been able to make magic happen. As adults they've created and host a television show, Supernaturals Among Us: Yes or No. On their way to a meeting with a medium, they end up in a small southern town and encounter Meghan Clark. The moment they see her they not only want her, they know she holds the answers they crave.
One of The Gifted, Meghan was conned shortly after arriving from the homeland. "Once burned, twice shy" sums her up to a T. Still, she’s looking forward to meeting her forever mates, two men she hopes will love her and accept her as she is. But never in her wildest dreams would she have cast Ryan and Jeremy in those roles.
The men aren’t sure they buy that forever-mate thing, but they sure as hell are determined to keep Meghan safe when two murderous warlocks target their woman.

Passions Aflame is second in Cara Covington’s The Gifted series and although Meghan came to our plane of existence willingly she is not ready for her mating. She has been burned and isn’t sure she can trust again. And then she learns that her mates have been trying to debunk the unexplained. But have they really? And is she ready to listen and give them a chance?
Ms. Covington did not make it easy for Meghan to let go. And even though Ryan and Jeremy may have been predisposed to believe, were they really? I love the emotions Ms. Covington brings out in her characters and was not disappointed with this story. Meghan was ill prepared for the world she entered and trusted early and poorly. So when her mates came she was afraid to open herself up again. But Ryan and Jeremy were looking for answers and Meghan’s honor would not allow her to withhold what they were seeking. Ms. Covington made that the easiest part of the journey these three would embark on to find their happily ever after. Ryan and Jeremy are used to control and finding out fate and destiny have a hand in their future is a struggle for the men. And accepting what can’t be changed may come too late to save the woman who has slowly taken their hearts. I loved that Ms. Covington showed the choices that needed to be made. Fate may play a hand but you still get to choose. It was a lesson that permeated throughout the story and I enjoyed seeing the characters evolve together while learning to trust in each other. This story was a wonderful addition to this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
