Attacked by werewolves. Mated to the Alpha. Declared a queen. Kari is having an unusual day.

In the Cherchez wolf pack, loyalty is earned, not given. For Andreas, the pull he feels toward Kari cannot be ignored, a physical bond immediate and unbreakable—though Andreas wants to win Kari's heart as well as her body. But someone isn't happy about his new mate, and Kari's just beginning to trust him and the pack when attempted murder threatens their newfound happiness.

Andreas brings out the deepest hunger in Kari, a sexy, passionate side of herself she never knew was there. And her new life as werewolf queen is turning out to be surprisingly emotional in other ways, as well. The bond she feels with Andreas extends to the others in the pack—others she's now bound to defend.

And as the pack's enemies are about to discover, Kari will do anything to protect her new family.

Wolf's Ascension by Lauren Dane is the first book in the Cherchez Wolf Pack series. I really loved this one. Lots of great world building in here too. I liked knowing pack politics. How things work, very complex and had me wanting more. There is a great romance in this book too, but I love a story I can sink into and fall in love with, this is that kind of story.
Kari is a normal every day human. She gets attacked and turned into a werewolf against her will. I liked her strength. She might be new to her powers but she is strong. Truly she is meant to be the bride to an alpha. She has softness to that makes her genuinely likeable.
Andreas he has had his plans blow the smoke by one of his pack members turning Kari without permission. The pack needs human women turned so they can have children. The pack doesn't have many women born to it so they must turn them. He is a strong leader, fair minded. I liked he is a thinker as well as physically strong. His kindness, and strength are just what the pack needs at this most vulnerable time.
Over all this is a great read. Full of action, suspense, erotic romance all tangled together. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I will be in line to get it and find out who falls in love next and how the pack is doing in the future.
