Taken by the Wolf King by Marteeka Karland - Romance>African-American eBook
A Wolf King she can never have...
Leif Wolfheart: Tempted by a dark-skinned beauty he can't figure out, he struggles to put aside his own needs in order to save his people from continued slavery.

A mysterious woman whose beauty is matched only by her treachery...
Elsa Thorne: Caught between deadly politics and a man bent on claiming her, all she can afford to focus on is saving her children. At any cost.

Captured, tortured, and maddened by pain, Leif vows revenge on the woman he would have made his queen. But will his hatred of what she was forced to do build a wall between them that can never be torn down?

Taken by the Wolf King by author Marteeka Karland is a fast paced and really entrancing read. I couldn't put the book down once I started. I love Ms. Karland's writings before this one, but this story has to be the best I have read yet. Little bits of Scifi, shifter, interracial, and action adventure, all wrapped up in a steamy love affair.
Leif he is going to Earthen to basically make nice with the locals, and have a treaty with the planet. Does he really want to be here, no but he is the ruler of his planet so he kinda has to. Even when his hosts are less than polite with him. He is a in charge kind of man. Though very fair in his dealing. I liked his balance of power and kindness. He really has a great soul. He is a true romantic at heart, that had me at Hello there.
Elsa when we meet her she is basically the waiting staff at a party. She is supporting her sister's two children. Her sister and her husband have died. The children only have her. I admire her loyalty and willingness to give up everything for children who basically are not really hers. Shows she is a person of true character and love.
These two are really meant to be together. They have their own miss understandings along the way, but love really can see you through even the most horrible of situations if you just let it. I hope this book can turn into a series I know I would love to read more about Leif's home world and those that live in it.
