That evening, he goes to a gay club where meets a gorgeous man who seduces him, but then leaves his hotel room in the morning with only a note. A few weeks later, Ethan begins his new job and discovers that the man he slept with is his new boss, Chance Harlow. He's fallen for the playboy, but wants to keep their relationship strictly professional. He’s failing miserably as Ethan keeps succumbing to Chance’s seductive advances.
Ethan is selected to accompany Chance to Bali for a huge account and will be spending ten days at a luxurious resort with the man he's fallen in love with. Chance has made his intentions known, and he won't pressure him, but if Ethan doesn't want him, there are plenty of men who will. Ethan struggles with this until one evening they are in the hot tub with two hot swingers who want to play. Ethan flees to his room to get drunk after watching Chance make out with one of the men. Will Ethan finally give in to the playboy, or did his actions finally lose him the man he loves.
Excerpt from Taking A Chance
Chance stood up, walked around his desk with his arms folded, and looked Ethan up and down with no expression of recognition. "Nice to meet you, Ethan Moore," he said, holding out his hand to shake Ethan's. This new employee reminded him of someone. Chance thought back to the hot little twink he'd had for 'lunch' that afternoon. Bent over the stall, begging me for it.
Ethan stood just in front of Brad with his mouth hanging wide open. Chance noticed the young man seemed to recognize him as well. "Nice to meet you, sir," he choked out as he shook Chance’s hand.
Ethan, Ethan…, oh, I remember now; that cutie I picked up at the club a couple of weeks ago. Chance pulled out of his thoughts… "Please, I'm not sir here, I'm Chance," he said, now with a wide grin of recognition.
"Mr. Harlow," Brad corrected.
"Right—Mr. Harlow. So, Mr. Parker, why don't you leave Mr. Moore with me so we can get acquainted? You can come back for him in, let's say twenty minutes," he said, checking his watch. "That alright with you, Ethan?" He smacked Ethan gently on the back and without waiting for an answer, he ordered, "Have a seat."
Ethan nodded in response yet stood in front of the huge mahogany desk.
"Well, Ethan..." He motioned for Ethan to sit down. "Bradley?" He glared at his second in command.
"Right, I'll just show myself out." Brad shut the door behind him, muttering, "That was quick."
Meanwhile, Ethan slowly sat down, sinking into the large, leather swivel chair in front of Chance's mahogany desk, shaking, while Chance paced, back and forth, ogling every inch of him. "It is you, right, Ethan?"
"Chance, I mean Mr. Harlow, I mean—oh God, I swear I had no idea who you were. I honestly had no idea you worked here," the poor boy babbled.
"So why didn't you call me?" Chance, cocked his head, arms folded, aware he was making Ethan nervous.
"I'm so sorry. I picked up the phone so many times." Beads of sweat formed on Ethan's brow, clearly unnerved by the interrogation.
"Relax Ethan, I'm just teasing you."
Ethan looked up at him with big brown eyes and blinked. "I wanted to," he mumbled.
They stared at each other for a moment before Chance broke their trance. God, he was beautiful. If they weren't at work, Chance love to taste those lips again.
