Are you saying that I don’t affect you in any way?”

“Nope.” She fluttered her sooty lashes in feigned innocence and pouted her mouth.

“Well, you may deny it, but the traitorous responses of your lips and body prove otherwise.”

Temptation. Seduction. Revenge. Beautiful Kaitlyn Monroe never thought that her job as a personal shopper would land her a chance to bump into a dashing billionaire - Roy Hearst. Entirely fascinated by her beauty and intelligence, he lures the angelic, young lady into temptation by offering her a dare-devil proposal - to play the role of a social escort by his side. He just needs a date that he can string along to the socialite functions he is invited to attend. Believing in the pure innocence of the arrangement, Kaitlyn agrees to the 'scandalous' proposal for the sake of securing a better life and earning the money she needs for her university studies. Everything seems to proceed smoothly, until the day she finds herself in love with the charming yet forbidden billionaire bachelor. Love and commitment are words that never appear in the dictionary of Roy Hearst because he is one man who is able to get any woman he wants with a snap of his fingers. Moreover, he does not believe in mixing business with pleasure. Torn between her love for him and her desire to pursue her own dreams, she decides to pick the latter. Some years later, she returns with a burning desire to make the ruthless billionaire pay back for misleading her in his deceptive game of love. Will she succeed in turning the tables on him this time and finally, give him a taste of his own medicine?

Review

I personally love a sweet but spicy romance of true love, and Sweet Revenge: The Billionaire's Deception by author Serena McCarthy is really that kind of a story.
Kaitlyn is a sweet, kind, honest, and hard working personal shopper. She is having a semi bad day when we first meet her. But it soon gets better when she meets our hero Roy.
Roy is a billionaire but he is a down to Earth sort of man. He doesn't like fuss, and is wanting a no fuss life. He needs Kaitlyn as a personal shopper but he also is really attracted to her so he asks her to be his escort for social functions.
From there these two grow from lust to love. Was a beautiful way a friendship can blossom into more. I did find the connection in this book to be rather luke warm. I was not overwhelmed with the attraction or love in this book.
I did find the flow of the book and the writing to be really well done. There is a great sweetness that reminded me of why I do read romances. I just wished the heat between the two was a little bit more than just okay. When you want a sweet fast paced romance this is the book to pick up.
