For best friends Jake and Nate the question isn't how they ended up in bed together but how they stay there.
Aggressive, physical, and brave, Jake Owens is a small town football hero turned big city cop who passes his time with meaningless encounters believing he can’t have who he really wants: Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever. Thoughtful, quiet, and kind, Nate is a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and has never been able to shake his crush on loyal, courageous, straight Jake.
After a passionate night together, Nate realizes Jake isn’t as straight as he assumed, but he worries that what they shared was a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long. For Jake, the question isn’t how they ended up in bed together because he has always known that Nate holds his heart, it’s how he’ll convince Nate that he wants and needs to stay there.

Review
This is was my first time reading Cardeno C when I picked up  Where He Ends and I Begin. That was many moons ago when I first read this story. The strength and love the characters have made me a Cardeno C fan for life. Jake is a tough jock. He has a heart that is pure and sweet. But only his best friend and love interest Nate would know that kindness is there. He has spent his life protecting Nate. He regrets nothing. He never wants to lose Nate he wants Nate to know and trust that but can he is the question.
Nate cannot imagine a life without Jake in it. Being a science nerd all his life he has helped Jake with the academics. But he has also secretly pined for the man he never though could be his.
When that all changes can Nate accept the change and know that Jake really is his forever?
I loved the retelling of this story. There is a lot of smoothing out the rough edges to this book. I will admit I never thought I could love this book more. But I do. If you are a true die hard romantic, you really need to pick up this book. Truly speaks to a love that does last a lifetime.
