Aurelia T. Evans
Last year, I was fortunate enough to have the chance to write for roughly eight months straight. During that time period, I produced an insane amount of fiction, and this year I’m insanely thankful that I was able to churn out the first five books of the dark erotic romance series Arcanium—five long novels, each examining the conflicts and carnal delights of the demonic circus Arcanium.
I’m thankful that I have been able to spend so much of my time and energy on this wonderful, horror-filled world and its inhabitants. I’m grateful to know my own characters—the enigmatic fortune teller Bell, strong and spicy lady of the high wire Maya, the brave carousel engineer Caroline, the wonderfully angsty aerialists Seth and Lars, the sadistic Ringmaster, the badass bearded lady Kitty, and most recently, veteran contortionist Valorie and her devoted fire-eater pet. Plus, of course, all the background characters that make Arcanium all the more interesting, from strongman to sword swallower.
At every point while writing, editing, and submitting these novels, I kept expecting Totally Bound to pull the series, tell me I was going way too far, way too esoteric, mixing blood and guts and the best of the horror genre with some of the steamiest sex scenes and most unusual romances I’ve ever written—and that’s not even getting into the characters’ circus personas.
And at every point, Totally Bound stuck with me, advocating a few changes here and there, but really working with me to put out this awesomely arcane series. I really can’t thank them enough for dealing with authorial insecurities and neuroses, aggressive negotiation, and cover tweaks.
Finally, I’m grateful for the fabulously freaky fans who enjoy my strange little tales, and I’m thankful that not only do I have five Arcanium novels behind me for the world to enjoy—FORTUNE, CAROUSEL, AERIAL, RINGMASTER, and the newest offering, CONTORTION—but there’s still more to come.
Aurelia T. Evans is an up-and-coming erotica author with a penchant for horror and the supernatural.
She’s the twisted mind behind the werewolf/shifter Sanctuary trilogy, demonic circus series Arcanium, and vampire serial Bloodbound. She’s also had short stories featured in various erotic anthologies.
Aurelia presently lives in Dallas, Texas (although she doesn’t ride horses or wear hats). She loves cats and enjoys baking as much as she dislikes cooking. She’s a walker, not a runner, and she writes outside as often as possible.
Blurb for Contortion:
Arcanium’s getting a little more twisted…
After one too many demons leave her for other women, Valorie, the circus contortionist, is thinking about quitting Arcanium. It’s not that she hates performing, but she’s been in Arcanium for almost twenty years. She’s bored, feeling neglected and rejected, and there’s nothing keeping her there anymore.
Until ex-lover Bell, the fortune teller and owner of Arcanium, gives her the fire-eater—bound and gagged—as a present and a bribe to convince her to stay.
John—cursed into Arcanium and heavily scarred from fires gone out of control—turns out to be an adequate distraction. He’s almost sweet, in spite of the bad person he used to be—a decent enough pet willing to work his way to redemption in Valorie’s collar and under her command. Valorie’s just not sure whether he’s enough.
Especially when her former fiancé from twenty years ago stumbles upon the circus and discovers where his would-be wife disappeared to.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and horror; features femdom, flexible autoerotica, collaring, bondage, spanking, orgasm denial, adultery, voyeurism, a scene of non-human sex, and a scene of demon/human FMF ménage.
Arcanium series blurb:
Welcome to Arcanium, the Circus of Lost Souls. Stay a while and feast your senses on the world-famous collection of human oddities and marvels, with death-defying daredevil acts and breathtakingly beautiful performances of strength and skill.
Unbelievable talent, undeniable passion, unspeakable horror! You won’t believe your eyes!
Just take care not to make a wish in front of the fortune teller or threaten any of the cast, or else the denizens of this demonic circus will ensure there is hell to pay. Literally.
These are the stories of the cast of Arcanium—and the wishes that bind them there.
