He’d walk through fire for the doctor who once broke his heart

Six months after having his heart broken, Australian firefighter Flynn Boomer is ready to live again. As part of a firefighter exchange program, he finds himself in New York. The last person he expects to see on his first day with Ladder Co. 42 is the man whom Flynn came out for: Dr. David Ennis—who left him without a word after their first public kiss.

Flynn makes David feel more alive, more real than he’s ever felt before. But can David deal with the rest of the world knowing? Determined to deny Flynn’s existence, David fights his own feelings. But no matter how terrified he is at the thought of his secret being discovered, he can’t stay away from the Australian.

Flynn can no more deny David than he can deny breath, but the thought of living a lie with him tears him apart. Love is powerful, but will it be enough?

Review
Can't Stay Away by author Lexxie Couper is part of the Out for You series. I liked that each book in this series is a stand alone but under the same theme. In this story we have the Flynn an Aussie with a heart of gold. He is brave, sweet, and completely in love with David. He has tried to move on, he knows David is in the closet, but his heart wants the prickly American no matter what.
David when we first meet him, I wanted Flynn to clock him harder. He doesn't come off as the nicest character. He is FDNY chief medical officer. So far into the closet I think he has lost he way. He really wants Flynn. He just has to admit he wants Flynn. They met in Australia now an exchange program is giving them a second chance.
I loved the chemistry these two have. It burns hot and fast. The real struggles of accepting yourself as you are, are well played out in this book. Little bit rushed but it is a short story. I really love how Ms. Couper made me want an Aussie man for my own. I would love to read more from her in the future as well.
