For years Gage has been turning men into steel, athletes into warriors of strength, competitors into medalists. But Gage isn’t looking for any more empty trophies, he’s looking for something far more meaningful.
When Gage takes a new job at an old gym, he doesn’t expect his entire life to get a workout, just a change of pace. At first it doesn’t seem like much and about the only plus is the endless view of rugged and well worked man-candy in the form of weightlifters and Strongman competitors that he’d be training and working with. He figures he has it made the minute he walks in the front door in that sense. But in truth, it isn’t enough. He wants a place to set down roots. More importantly, he wants someone to take root with.
Because he’s gay, Gage had always been told to just be happy with what he got, but there’s something about Boomer. A quiet, towering mountain of a Bear that was the gym’s manager who has Gage hoping for more than just daydreaming about the large physique. And that alone promises to put a spark back into the life of a lonely, freckled ginger.
You’re never too old for a teddy bear, right?

Big Spoon and Teddy Bear is the second book in the Teddy Bear series by author Princess S.O. This is the first time I have read the series, I felt this book was a stand alone and I was not lost. I did however feel this book lacked romance. It was an okay read. But the connection that makes a romance just was not there for me.
Gage has been making men competitors and medalists that is what he does at the gym. He loves his job. He needs a little break so he takes a job at the gym for a change of pace. Gage is looking for more than just shallow hook ups. He doesn't care about money and prestige he just wants real true love.
Boomer the owner of the gym, the man Gage cannot stop looking at seems to not see him as anything other than someone who works for him. Boomer has his own internal struggles in this book too. He has been through a lot and needs to reconcile that to be in a new relationship.
Over all this has the bones of a great story. I like the idea of a bear, I also like gingers too. But the lack of zing in this book just really made me want more than the book gave me. I kept hoping the zing the connection would be there. So I give this one a so so. It had a great story just don't expect a whole lot of connection and I think you would love this one.
