What will it take for a dragon prince to defy his father and fly on his own?

Prince Jules, the least favorite of the Dragon King's children, lives simply, banished to his rooms and the amazing adventures found in his books. He has never left the palace or shifted into his dragon form...he's never done anything.

Dragon shifter Lem is assigned to Jules as the prince's new bodyguard, and is determined to keep Jules safe from the Graithen, who killed the prince’s previous guardian. Lem grows to hate how the King hides Jules away, and longs to show him how to fly. His love for Jules also grows but it is forbidden, like so much in Jules' life.

When the Graithen attack again, though, everything changes.

Healing Fire by author Sean Michael brings the story of two dragon shifters to life. Jules is a prince, a prince who is never let out his gilded prison. Trapped by walls and magic he has lived for over 200 years inside his palace rooms.  He has his gardens and books to keep him company. Shy, quiet, and only one friend in the world his bodyguard.  When his first guard dies during an enemy attack Jules thinks there can be no one ever to replace him. That is until Lem becomes his new guard. Lem is kind, sweet, and loyal. Lem refuses to let Jules give up on life. He also refuses to have him trapped in a room for the rest of his life. Not only does Lem reawaken Jule’s urge to live but he opens his heart too. Jules in some ways is very child like. He has not done so much, but Lem never loses patience. He is always telling Jules how important he is. I love the romance in this book. it is sweet, very sweet. There is hot sex too but the entire world the author creates really is what makes me want to read this book.  I hope there is more in this world of dragons and magic. I would love to see that in the future. If you want magic, dragons, and man love this is the book to pick up.
