Dark Sky (Tempting Signs) by Katalina Leon - Romance>Anthology/Bundle
12 Authors. 12 Zodiac Signs. 1 Explosive Series. What seductive, contemporary romance will you find today? SCORPIO.
Avery Vayl√©, has always had a crush on her big brother’s best friend, Severin. But at the age of sixteen she watched in despair as Severin joined the Navy and later married someone else.
Severin Ortega is a ruggedly handsome, Scorpio who has suffered humiliation of a messy divorce. The ladies love his wicked smile and obsidian eyes, but he’s extremely lonely and loath to expose his heart to another betrayal. After serving eight years, overseas, he returns without fanfare to the high desert Naval Airbase where he grew up to see if his childhood sweetheart is still sweet on him.
Sometimes fate has a way of putting things right. On a lonely desert highway, Avery’s car breaks down. When Severin shows up as the tow-truck driver, the chemistry between them is off the charts. Avery sees her chance to win the man she’s always wanted, but knows this moody Scorpio has been stung by love. During a night of stargazing in the desert, she coaxes him into opening up, all the while bathing him in the love she longs to share. But their lucky stars may not last. Avery’s bullying ex shows up on the scene and Severin’s past has been tarnished by a dark secret that won’t stay buried.

Dark Sky by Katalina Leon is the  Tempting Signs: Scorpio addition to this series. Though part of a great series doesn’t not have to be read in order, to understand anything.  These are stand alone stories just written in the same series.
I love Ms. Leon’s style. She gives us a purely romantic and contemporary view.  I love romance and this book is truly romantic at heart.
Avery has had a crush on her big brother’s best friend since forever. She has had to settle for being his friend when she really wants more as she gets older. She is a good person, has her own mind. I liked that she also is strong doesn’t need someone to take care of her. She can be taken in by others because she has a giving heart. That leads her to trouble with a boyfriend who refuses to let go. But she does take action not relying on anyone else to fix her problems for her. I liked that very much about her.
Severin he is patient, thoughtful, and kind. He likes Avery. She is the one person who always makes him feel like he can do anything. But he knows she is like family so off limits.  He eventually leaves the small town, gets married joins the service. Now he is back and divorced. He just hadn’t planned on having more than friendship feelings for Avery.  He has also come back with demons of his own to get rid of.
I liked watching friends become lovers. I think everyone should be best friends with the person they are in love with.  I liked the flow of this book too. Everything fell into place nicely but didn’t seem contrived or forced.
Overall I am really impressed with Ms. Leon’s writing and chemistry she brings to her characters. I hope to read many more books from her in the future, and find out who else falls in love next.
