Publisher’s Blurb
The wilds of San Francisco are a long way from the rural-Utah beat of Deputy Joe Peterson.

Kabe’s former Dom, the man who protected him in prison, dies and Kabe, along with Jack’s other boys, returns to The City to pay their respects. Joe wonders where he fits in after seeing Kabe at home, with the family and friends he left behind. When he agrees to help track down one of the missing boys he can’t understand Kabe’s aversion to his getting involved.

The emotions dredged up by the search, and Kabe’s slipping back into his old out-of-control life style, pitch them along like the rough surf Kabe has so missed riding. If they can find the balance between love, respect and their lifestyle, they may just be able to discover a place Joe thought was closed to him forever.

Review
Requiem in Leather by James Buchanan is a Deputy Joe Novel. I really suggest reading these books in order. I did not this is my first book in this series and Requiem in Leather felt like a middle book. Like I had missed something before and it was bringing me to the next book. It is like different levels in these men’s lives so read them in order is my suggestion.
Kabe has a friend who died. He finds out in an email. Kabe is learning about himself in this book. I felt like he was finding his footing an deciding where he wants to be in his life. I liked that, and was confused by it as well. I think if I had read the previous book this would not be the case. Cause Kabe is really coming into his own.
His lover Joe is finding himself lost along the way. He doesn’t know how to deal with the changes in Kabe and he doesn’t know how to react to Kabe’s friends. I do like he is willing to try to be what he needs to for Kabe.  Good hearted person that loves Kabe with all his heart.
Over all I really liked this story. Even with the places I felt a tiny bit lost. Mr. Buchanan always brings great stories and well done characters and this story is no exception to that trend. I would love to go back and see what I missed in this series, I know these two men have a ton of love and will have a bright future together.
