Review
Exiled and unable to return to her home country.  Alone with her sisters in arms and her husband of convenience, Astaria believes she has nothing to lose and much to gain.  So, determined to protect and convince her family to join her in America, Astaria makes a last ditch effort to save the last of her family.  But Astaria isn’t as alone as she thinks, Kaeden may have started his marriage as one of convenience but it didn’t remain one for long, at least in his heart.  When he learns his wife has returned to almost certain death, he is determined to show his wife what he feels.  I loved Kaeden’s determination.  He was courtly and I found that unexpected for a soldier.  He never saw himself as a means to an end for Astaria.  He loved her even if he couldn’t show it.  Possible death showed him that time was fleeting and solidified his determination to have Astaria see him as more than a convenient and necessary evil.  In Roslyn Hardy Holcomb’s third installment of her Pussycat Death Squad series, we are given two strong characters.  Both are deeply religious and honorable to a fault.  They have become friends even under the guise of marriage.  I love the respect they have for each other, even as they hide their true feelings for each other.  Astaria’s desire to re-unite with her family leads to consequences that are deadly.  But she was aware and willing to take the risk, she just found herself surprised by her husband.  Ms. Holcomb wove a wonderful tale that was innocent even as it touched on deep topics.  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Kaeden and Astaria learn to be more the roommates.  Pussycat in Peril was a wonderful addition to this series and I look forward to seeing more of Ms. Holcomb’s Pussycats find their happily ever after.
