C&M Security, 2
After a harrowing attack she barely survived, Mallory Thompson knows she needs help. The police can only do so much without a description of her attacker. On the advice of a detective she turns to C&M Security in the hopes of getting some protection while the police hunt for the man who shot her.
Trent McDonald, ex-Marine and bodyguard at C&M Security, can’t believe the case his boss hands him. Rather, he can’t believe the woman he’s being asked to protect. Mallory is stunning, amazing, and he knows the instant he sees her picture he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
What neither of them expected was just who was behind the attack on her. In this game of life, or death, everyone seems to have dangerous secrets.

Tortured, shot and nearly killed.  Mallory barely survives and she doesn’t know why.  In Dangerous Secrets the second installment of Moira Callahan’s C&M Securities series, we meet Mallory and Trent.  Mallory is barely hanging on.  She is targeted for information but has no clue what it is.  The police can’t help but C&M Securities can.  And with their involvement, Mallory’s life changes for the better.  She can finally breathe even as she struggles to understand who has targeted her and why.  Ms. Callahan starts this story off with a bang and she doesn’t slow down.  Trent and Mallory meet under trying circumstances to say the least butMs. Callahan doesn’t let that stop the action or the emotion.  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Mallory and Trent come out of their self-imposed shells.  Mallory has been so focused on her career there has been no time for love.  Trent is equally focused so appreciates what Mallory is coming to mean to him.  I loved that even as they focused on protecting Mallory, Ms. Callahan allowed them to learn about each other.  They talked and laughed and loved despite the danger that surrounded them.  Ms. Callahan balanced the emotion and action quite well and I enjoyed seeing both characters grow and interact.  This story is a wonderful addition to this series and I am looking forward to seeing who is next to have their happily ever after.
