The key to his salvation is the one person he’s destined to love...and betray.

Tattooed half-breed Takayo ‘Saint’ St John kills for the PSC with single-minded efficiency. He’s never questioned or failed his assignments...until he stares into the cornflower-blue eyes of Ryken Valte, the man whose life he’s infiltrated under false pretenses. Harsh words and a cold shoulder aren’t enough to keep the distance between them, but Saint’s mission damns him. His job is to kill the brother of the man he loves and he sees no way out of his predicament.

Ryken melts under the intense attraction between him and Saint, but the man keeps pushing him away, denying their connection. Ryken would give up everything, do anything to have Saint at his side and in his bed, but secrets bigger than them make it impossible. Ryken yearns for Saint’s surrender, but he’ll get more than he bargained for when dark forces neither comprehends return with a vengeance.

Review
Finding your mate only to learn you must kill his brother will certainly make family holidays difficult to say the least.  Unfortunately that is the situation that Saint finds himself in.  Avril Ashton certainly didn’t make the road leading to happily ever after smooth for Saint and Ryken.  But one thing I can say for her, she writes a believable solution.  I adored Saint.  He found himself in a no win situation.  He fights with and for his mate.  And he does so within a code of ethics and honor that was bone deep.  Ryken can’t understand why Saint blows hot and cold, but he is determined to win the man who sparks not only his body but his heart.  Ryken was young and sometimes his immaturity shone a bit too bright for me.  Having said that, his very immaturity fit the character; otherwise where would the growth happen?  Ryken was young and he would be forced to grow up in a way that isn’t necessarily pretty.  Ms. Ashton has a habit of writing situations that are not for the faint of heart and I didn’t envy her, Ryken or Saint in this tale.  Saint was faced with consequences that could prove deadly, not just for him and his mate but also for paranormals at large.  I couldn’t wait to turn the page to see what would happen, how will this get resolved?    Would Saint fulfill his job?  Could Ryken forgive the secrets? Would anyone be happy by tales end?  The only way to find out is to pick up your own copy of Avril Ashton’s Till Surrender.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.
