Although this is book two in the collection, it can be read as a standalone or the first in the series.

For most of his adult life, Jon dedicated his life to the church, finding solace in helping others, but there has always been something missing. Up until now, he's been able to push that aside and move forward, letting everyone think he's happy and doing what he loves.

Ash doesn't want to continue with life. Left behind to live a cold and empty life after his partner died in a tragic accident, he doesn't see any future for himself. He goes through the motions of living, but inside he’s ready to give up. All that's left behind is the anger and hurt he has inside him.

Finding comfort in each other's company, the two men struggle with emotions, guilt and fears about the future. Confiding only in each other, they grow closer, both denying the bond building between them, and a past that won't let them move on

Review
Absolution is the second book in the Sinful Temptation series by authors  E.M. Leya and Nicole Colville. This is a standalone book even though it is part of a series.  This book also has a taboo subject,  not all readers will be comfortable with.
Jon is a catholic priest. He loves gardening, he feels that the priesthood might not be where he should be right now. He is lonely wants someone to share his life with.  He wants to be a good priest but how can he when his heart is not in it?
Asher:  Best friends with Zach from Sinful temptations, 1.  His partner of seven years was taken from him in a car crash. He has been running from his family and friends ever since.  But Zach’s wedding makes him come out and see him.  Ash would like nothing better than to keep right on running forever but his feelings for a certain priest make him stay.
In this book Jon has to find himself. He has to decide what he really wants to do with his life. Ash has that same dilemma on a different level. He has to learn to move on once the love of his life dies.  They both have a lot to let go of before they can come together.
I personally loved this book, there is such great emotional connection with these characters.  I just could not stop reading it.  I liked how they could help each other get over what was needed.  Like they are perfect halves of a whole.  I would love to read more in the Sinful Temptation series in the future I hope there are many more to come.
