Love is a precious thing...

When James Dyllon finds an explicit card on his desk he doesn’t know what to think. His hot as Hades boss has never given him the slightest indication that he returns James’ affections, so this card can’t be from him. Two male lovers entwined—someone is having a laugh at his expense.

George MacKenzie is done lusting after James from afar. A new year brings with it the opportunity for change and George is tired of hiding. Since taking over the company after his father fell ill, he is finally in a position to act on his feelings, and he wants James. The card might be a feeble attempt, but at least James does not seem disinterested.

Together they will be able to weather anything, as long as he can convince James that he really does want forever.

Review
Loving your boss is the quickest way to lose your job, that is unless your boss has his eye on you as well.  And when James gets a racy card at work, he doesn’t expect the giver to be his new boss.  But can he trust George to be sincere?  I really enjoyed seeing James find out just how far George is willing to go.  James sees no reason to hide who he is.  His family supports him.  So he refuses to be a dirty little secret.  But George has no intention of hiding his growing feelings for James and he is willing to do what he must to show it.  I liked George and James together.  James is confident, at least in his sexuality, but a bit insecure when it comes to relationships.  George’s father has never accepted that he loves men, so he has been reduced to one offs far from home.  But he knows that James is more and he has done what is necessary to give them a chance.  I really enjoyed seeing how Ms. O’Connor allowed George to blossom.  With James he got to see what support can mean and it solidified his determination.  And James found that being Under His Boss was a wonderful place to be.  This story by Doris O’Connor was a nice quick read and well worth picking up.
