Badly disfigured, Geoff lives alone in the woods with only his wolf as companion. It’s a solitary life, but one he is comfortable with. When he discovers a fairy with an injured wing at the beginning of winter, his whole ordered world is turned upside down. But will Mauve be horrified by his rescuer’s visage? Or can the fairy look beyond the scars and see into Geoff’s heart?

Review

Winter’s Gift by Sean Michael is a really different kind of love story. We have a human Geoff, lives off the land and has a wild wolf as a pet, falling in love with a male Fairy who got to close to a tree and hurt himself.  I liked Geoff he is very sweet, kind, and understands nature’s true balance.   Mauve is a creature unlike any I have met before. He is both ethereal and human-like.  He has a fragile yet strong soul so like the world he lives in.   Their love grows and gets stronger as the winter goes on. I felt so sad for Geoff when Mauve had to go home. But the ending was well worth that pain.   This is a sweet story that will make you believe in fairy-tales.
