Major Jacob “Jake” O’Connell is a career soldier. He did as he was ordered. When he was brought in on Project Alliance, he never dreamed it would lead him to another world. But as the mission he’s sent on turns into something he wants more than his next breath, Jake has to decide if turning his back on everything he has ever known is worth accepting the three catmen that want to claim him as their own.

When Terra Nova is threatened, taking him back to Earth, Jake has to fight for his freedom and the freedom of the world he now considers his home. But the betrayal is deep and comes from an unexpected source. Can Jake and his warriors work together to defeat their enemies or will Jake be forced to choose between earthlings and aliens?

From the very first words in this story by Stormy Glenn, I realized why I am such a fan.  She gives us such strong male characters full of honor and integrity and Jake was a perfect case in point.  He is given a job and he is the best at what he does.  He trains his men and steps up when more is needed.  And then when he learns that he was lied to, does Jake moan and complain?  No, he sucks it up and makes lemonade out of lemons.  Doesn’t matter that he loves lemonade, he just does what is necessary and in this particular instance, it is to his advantage.  Can you tell just how much I loved Jake?  He has found himself off world, given half-truths and manages to fall in love.  He impresses not only the men that are his but also their chieftains.  Ms. Glenn wove a tale that allowed me to see the integrity of not only Jake but also his men and their new world.  She showed that with patience, communication and honesty much could be accomplished.  I loved that although the sexual relationship happened quickly, you understood why and it made sense.  Even though the relationship became sexual quickly, Ms. Glenn still allowed Jake and his men the time to learn about each other outside of the bedroom.  I loved seeing Jake explain something as simple as public displays of affection and have it met with respect by those to whom it was foreign.  I loved that he was respectful of actions that were equally foreign to him.  Ms. Glenn gave us a wonderful story that was full of love and respect.  I wasn’t ready for it to end and you won’t be disappointed when you meet The Major’s Warriors.
