Kai Huang is a romantic who dreams of finding the one, and living a happily-ever-after since being disowned by his parents. To top it off, Kai has been having strange, prophetic dreams, and all of them are about one man. One day he sees that man in the form of Darius at a party and he’s drawn like moth to a flame.
Darius (or Artaxerxes, as he is called) is a demon whose latest mission was to make sure this madman of a vampire stayed alive, although he failed. Guarded and untrusting, Darius has never been in a relationship, so when fate decides to bring them together, Darius is shocked to find out that Kai is his mate.
Not all is well, however, when Kai and his friends are attacked by a supernatural force during a party. While the answers they seek are uncertain, Kai’s dreams hold the key to solving the mystery, as well as changing his life forever.

Frey Ortega has another hit with Passionate Premonition.  I loved the humor in this book.  Darius is a demon who failed his mission and is paying the price.  He finds his mate in Kai. Kai is a romantic human. And Darius is the one demon he cannot resist.  Darius has been looking his whole life for someone like Kai.  To have a link with a bond that lasts forever. If they can learn trust they both can have the one thing they have always wanted.  A family and love that will last   forever.
I like the alpha character of Darius, he is strong but flawed. He doesn’t always do the right thing, which I like makes him feel more human to me and real.  He screws up just like the rest of us do.
Kai is really sweet. He is the dreamer of the two.  I think Darius really needs that quality in his life. Someone to make him smile and stop and smell the roses so to speak.
This book really should be read in order. There are people we know and love from the other books in this one.  But I found I really liked that, it is like going back and finding out what your old friends are doing now sort of thing.  There is plenty of hot man love to scorch your fingers as you read this great fast paced story. I also love Frey Ortega’s humor, we really get to see it in this book and I love it.
When you want a story to bring you a steaming hot fantasy this is the book to pick up.
