Taking over her father’s practice was always in the cards for Athena Rhodes. What she didn’t expect was having to deal with the mob. Being an honest, law-abiding citizen, Athena does what anyone would do in the situation—she reported the threats to the local authorities. The FBI was quick to take up the case, and keep an eye on her. But things are about to rise to a whole new level.

Martin Carver’s life is a carefully constructed cover story of saving the world, one whale at a time. The reality is a whole lot more dangerous. As a covert operative for the FBI he never once thought he’d be seeing the woman who holds his heart under such dangerous circumstances. But when he gets handed a folder with Athena’s name on it, there’s no one that will keep him from protecting her, and finally saying the words “forever mine”.

Review
Martin’s boss has conned his return to Massey, TX.  He has hidden his ties to law enforcement from his family but with the case he was just handed, his carefully constructed lies will fall apart.  But for Athena, Martin is willing to risk his mother’s wrath.
I loved April Zyon’s latest addition to her Massey, TX series.  She has returned to tell us the last Carver son’s story of happily ever after.  As with his siblings, the road is rocky and dangerous to say the least.  Someone he loves in in danger and with a bit of luck, determination, family and friends Martin hopes that Athena will finally be forever his.  I loved the sense of community that Ms. Zyon continues to bring with each installment of this series.  We see old friends as they fight to clean up their town and protect its citizens one and all.  Each Carver man has a strong sense of right and wrong.  They have all done their part to protect the innocent and Martin is no different.  Ms. Zyon paired him with a female equally determined to do what is right.  She refuses to bow down to evil and takes a stand.  Together with Martin she can fight the good fight and hopefully come out the other side mostly whole.  I loved that Athena and Martin are similar in their outlooks and their willingness to do whatever is necessary, as long as those they care about are safe.  I love that both take necessary steps to protect those they love.  I love that together they are stronger than they were apart and both appreciate that fact.  In Forever Mine by April Zyon we see two strong characters fighting the good fight even as they rekindle a flame that leads to happily ever after.
