In BirthStone, Silas and Jasmine finally christened their pups and become frantic when the babies become sick and are at risk of dying. Silas is ready to clean house and accuses the five people who are new to his home. Unfortunately, that includes Jasmine’s mom and her fiancĂ©, her sister, and her former pastor. Jasmine is unwilling to believe her family would do anything to hurt her babies. Silas disagrees and battle lines are drawn.
Since his enemies have not abandoned their plans to destroy him, Silas is under attack within his home and from outside. Determined not to lose hope or the war he comes to some startling conclusions just as Jasmine realizes she is much stronger than she realized before. Can the two of them work together to push back the threat out to destroy their home before it’s too late? Or will they lose it all?

Review
BirthStone by Sydney Addae is fourth in the La Patron series.  This story is best read in chronological order as this story takes over where BirthMark ends.  Silas and Jasmine are ready for their pups/babies to be baptized, well at least Jasmine is.  Silas doesn’t appreciate the timing but is willing to accept this is something Jasmine needs.  I loved that Silas continues to compromise with his mate who thinks in a way that is more human than not.  His love for Jasmine leads him to make changes that strengthen their relationship.  He is learning what it means to be a family man and not just La Patron.  And Jasmine continues to learn what it means to be a breeder and the Alpha bitch.  I love seeing Jasmine and Silas’ journey beyond their happily ever after.  It isn’t an easy transition for either of them.  Silas is used to his word not being questioned and Jasmine is used to making decisions by herself.  Both have to change and learn to bend, all while a war is being waged against full breed wolves and Silas in particular.  I enjoyed seeing Silas and Jasmine continue to grow as a couple.
Ms. Addae does a wonderful job of showing that it takes work to maintain a happily ever after.  She continues to move the story arc along even as we see the work that Silas and Jasmine put forth into their personal relationship.  This story is well written and action packed.  I love the unexpected twists and turns Ms. Addae gives us throughout this story and I can’t wait to see where she will take us next.
