It’s hard enough dealing with one human guy trying to get a date. If only her life was that simple. Lacey Rose has two men hot on her heels, and the fact they are sexy Luhpynes is only making it that much harder to resist their appeal. But they aren’t the only ones after her. Lacey has a stalker who is willing to do absolutely anything to gain her attention, including killing all those around her.
Zhubin and Ansell both knew the moment they met her just who Lacey was to them. Their mate. And neither has made qualms about letting her know at every turn. She’s been resistant, but that can only last so long under the persistent and dedicated courtship of two adult males. The only kink in their plans is that someone keeps trying to kill them off, and doesn’t appear concerned when she’s in the blast radius.
The clock is ticking for them all. Only time will tell.
Lacey’s Luhpynes by Honor James is first in the Beyond the Veil series. The veil has fallen and the separation between others and humans is no more. But never fear after growing pains, we have the Alien and Earth Defense Alliance or AEDA to police rogue others. Lacey, Zhubin and Ansell are agents of AEDA and mates. They all know it but for five years have failed to act on this knowledge. But when Lacey is nearly killed Zhubin and Ansell know it is time to take off the kid gloves. They are furious when they learn that not only has Lacey known she was their mate but has been protecting them by denying their connection. But now that her stalker has come out of the shadows, her men are determined to not only protect her but also to complete their mating. I loved that Lacey is a strong female character. She is kick ass and willing to do what is necessary for those she loves. She has known that Zhubin and Ansell are hers and they will just have to get over the fact that she protected them the best way she knew how. I loved that she wasn’t some milk toast female character. She was strong and determined and her men had better respect that. I loved that not only did they respect her strength but they were willing to allow her to be weak. Both Zhubin and Ansell were ALPHAs but that did not take away from their willingness to bend for Lacey. Ms. James showed us two males who were not ashamed to show just how much Lacey had them wrapped around her finger. But she respected them just as they respected her.
Ms. James gave us a story that was enjoyable. She wove three strong characters together in such a way that allowed for a relationship of equals. They respect each had for the other was apparent throughout even in their disagreements. I am looking forward to where she will take us as we learn more about the fall of the veil and those that protect.
