Ryder Bridges likes to play around, but he didn’t always. Heart broken by the only person he ever tried to give his heart to, Ryder decides light and easy is better than deep and painful.

Lachlan Holter isn’t great with feelings. He’s even worse with words. Still, one thing he knows is, he is too old to be falling for someone who is incapable of being in a serious relationship.

Mistakes and assumptions take control, but when all is finally revealed these two men will have a choice to make. Is playing things safe the way to go, or will Lachlan finally end up taming his cowboy?

Taming His Cowboy by Jess Buffett is pulling double duty.  It is second in the His Cowboy series and also part of Evernight Publishing’s Romance of the Go line.  It does not need to be read in chronological order.
I really enjoyed Ryder in this story.  He is perceived as free and easy with his favors, at least by Lachlan, and that could be nothing close to the truth.  He was young but true to the man who didn’t even know he held his heart.  I thought Ms. Buffett did a wonderful job of showing Ryder’s frustration with Lachlan.  She also added realism by showing both Lachlan and Ryder’s insecurities.
This was a quick read but Ms. Buffett made sure that it was a complete story.  It had moments of sweetness as well as heat between Lachlan and Ryder.  This story was well written and I did not feel cheated by its short length.  I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Ms. Buffett and look forward to reading more from this author.
