Or is this just one more lie proliferated by the Wylfen?

Review of book:

I find that when a series has such a strong opening, like Prymal Lust did, its sometimes a crapshoot as to whether subsequent books will have a same effect on me.  Absolutely not the case with Prymal Obsession.  I loved it just as much, though for different reasons, than I did the initial installment.  Jianne Carlo has such a way with her alpha males theyre flawed in the most beautiful ways.  Brut Jurango might be the most broken out of the group.  Hes survived a purging by the Jäeger, that tragically took not only his mate, but the rest of his pack as well, leaving him with a healthy dose of self-loathing.Sidonie Walker is his one apparent weakness something that seemed to alternately frustrate and turn him on.  Actually, I think that often times the two happened simultaneously.  And I freaking loved it.  She was flawed too had an innate need of order in every facet of her life, which made her appear to be a bit of a control freak.  I loved how the author revealed the reasons behind it. How she brought it to light, and showed the unique way Sidonie compensated for it, was a stroke of genius.

What I really loved about this book was how truly brutal he could be to Sidonie emotionally.  Yeah, I know, it shocked me too.   I usually hate characters who are verbally and emotionally abusive, but I really feel it was essential to the plot to get down to the nitty gritty of someone working through their deep seeded feelings of guilt and anger.  I also thought it was essential to show how much it ripped Sidonie up, very time Brut was an ass towards her.  Lets face it folks - life isnt pretty.  People undergo traumatic experiences every day, and have to struggle to find a way to put back together the brokenness and still function.  I loved this gritty, realistic layer to the story, because it made things all the more rewarding to me when the two of them would be on the same page.

If youre not afraid of a plot that will rip you apart emotionally and make you madder than hell, while at the same time turning you on, then I would highly recommend Prymal Obsession by Jianne Carlo.  Im eagerly anticipating Bandits story in Prymal Passion and I think once you read the first two books in the series, you will too.
