Her research can save them from extinction.

Her Blood makes her one of them.

A few want to kill her.

One man will do all he can to save her.

Adopted and raised by Terrans, Dr. Brianna Martin never quite fit in. Finding out she’s a long-lost female of the Prime race, she’s thrilled. And she has a mate living somewhere on Prime—one genetically destined to be hers alone. Before she figures out how to approach him, she’s attacked in her research lab.

Iolyn Caradoc is stunned at the news that his mate, matched to him soon after birth, still lives. Even more amazing, she’s a research scientist on the verge of discovering why the Prime race is dying. But pure-blood fanatics are trying to kill her and she’s on the run. Every primal instinct in him insists he find, claim, and protect his mate. But the woman won’t stay put.

When Bria finally meets Iolyn, she’s thrilled. He’s everything she could want—physically strong, highly intelligent, and … the other half of her soul. Yet, he’s also an overwhelmingly dominant and stubborn Prime warrior who wishes to protect her from everything—including her own Prime nature. As a Prime battle-mate, she has newfound instincts and skills—ones that will make her a true warrior. Ones she fully intends to learn and use.

If she manages to survive.

Monette Michaels has a great story with Prime Imperative. This is part of a series but I did not find myself lost at all. If anything I want to go back and read what I missed there is a lot of great story inside this book combined with hot chemistry that kept me reading.
Bria is tough, strong but very vulnerable. These qualities were really interesting to see played out. She has a softness to her that attracts her mate, Iolyn but her bravery sometimes scares him.
Iolyn has an urge to protect what is he sees as his. Bria was born his so he is in over drive to protect her. He also has many other factors that weigh heavily on him. He is a very strong likeable character.
I like how Ms Michaels brings everything together inside this book.  Why and hows of things and a shadow of things to come. This is a well rounded and thought out series that I really want more of. I hope there are many more books in this world, I know I would love to read them all.
