The legend of the PakaWatu...
Ever since she was a young girl, Abby Lane can’t resist the allure of a catshifter tribe forced to repress their beasts. On a trip to Africa, she discovers a coveted piece of information—the name the pride leader assumed when he left his home—and she traces his lineage to his descendent.
The sleeping lion...
Utah Pearce can’t keep his gaze off the woman who slips into the bar every night. Though not his usual type, she brings out the possessive instinct in him, making him battle with himself as he tries to stay away.
Abby’s research never prepared her for the reality in front of her. The beast is waking, and Utah is changing in ways both exciting and terrifying. He is possessive and dominant, and when he finally claims her, neither of them will ever be the same

Abby is quiet.  She doesn’t see herself as all that special but let someone she cares for be at risk and then watch out!  I loved that Ms. Thorn gave us this woman who is fascinated enough by a story most see as a myth.  Her fascination leads her down an educational path to unexpected results.  But Abby is not as meek as her appearance may indicate.  I loved the inner core of strength wrapped in an innocuous package.  I loved even more that Tah saw beneath her rather plain appearance to the strong woman Abby is.  Even as he struggled to accept that life as he knew it was no longer possible, he strives to protect Abby.  I adored his strength even as I wanted to pop him upside the head on occasion.  Ms. Thorn did a wonderful job of articulating Tah’s struggle as his beast emerged.  Tah is a strong man and fighting for control may cost him more than he was willing to give.  I loved that Abby brought forth his beast and for Abby Tah will cede control to that beast.  And for Tah that was the hardest lesson to learn.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first in Lacey Thorn’s Awakening Pride series and look forward to what Waking the Beast leads to.
