Where are all the bedroom Doms? Sick of men pushing her limits, Bridget Sanger brings up the issue on her secret blog. Bridget is ready to give up on kinky love and focus on her career. The blog is supposed to be her last rant, but it takes off. A meddling coworker tracks the page to her and knows the perfect Dom for Bridget.
Stuffy-outside-hot-inside History professor, Scott Kasten finds Bridget an intriguing challenge. History has taught him love never lasts, but their kink could be forever. She’s never thought of Scott like that, but it turns her on all the more to see his sexual side. He’s a man of his word, and she trusts him with her body. The sex is amazingly intense, but she wants a real relationship, and she won’t settle!
I thoroughly enjoyed Bridget! She is a strong woman who is sexually submissive and being submissive doesn’t mean she is a pushover. She understands her sexual needs and doesn’t need someone to push her beyond her hard limits. I could empathize quite well with Ms. Dragon’s Bridget, as an independent and opinionated woman. I understood her frustration with finding someone who wasn’t trying to change her. I understood her desire to be an equal everywhere but in the bedroom. I thought Ms. Dragon did an excellent job of allowing Bridget’s dissatisfaction and passion to shine through. And when she finally finds what she is looking for in Scott, I could totally believe in the chemistry between them. I loved that Scott fit her needs and she fit his so well. Both Scott and Bridget were private people who dovetailed quite nicely. I loved that Scott was perceived as boring when behind closed doors he was anything but. I loved that Ms. Dragon gave us a male character that seemed so normal but with a hidden dominant streak. Scott didn’t feel a need to push or cajole a submissive past their hard limits. He was secure in himself and while he pushed Bridget, he did so within the confines of both their sexual needs.
In Love and History we got a story that felt oh so real and believable which was full of passion. I loved the layers of both characters and just how surprised they were when love snuck up on them. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Dragon in the future.
