After two years together, Alex has been dreading the inevitable moment when Damon learns the truth: that Alex is a shifter, part of a small percentage of the population able to switch genders at will. Thanks to a forced implant, though, Alex is suddenly static—unable to shift—and male. Overnight, he’s out to a world that neither understands nor tolerates shifters . . . and to his heterosexual boyfriend.
Damon is stunned to discover his girlfriend is a shifter, and scared to death of the dangers the implant poses to Alex’s health. He refuses to abandon Alex, but what about their relationship? Damon is straight, and with the implant both costly and dangerous to remove, Alex is stuck as a man.
Stripped of half his identity and facing serious physical and social ramifications, Alex needs Damon more than ever, but he doesn’t see how they can get through this.
Especially if he’s static forever.

Review of Book:
Static by L.A. Witt is one of the best books I have read in a long time. Amazingly well done. How would you feel if your partner who you thought was a girl, turned out to be a shifter who switched genders at will?  How would you feel if that person was now static and stuck as a man?  Would you be able to accept the person inside?  These are just some of the questions that Damon has to answer when Alex gets an implant that makes him static and stuck as a man. Damon had no clue his girl friend was also a male. He isn’t gay but can he be for Alex?  Alex goes through a lot of emotional up upheaval as well. He is used to being both genders and being stuck as one is slowly driving him nuts. Then there is loving Damon and his trying to supportive and loving when he too is clearly confused.
The emotional intensity and character development is truly stellar in this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good well written love story with lots of story and love.
